General

This help section will give you some basic information about how to edit a page. Making links and urls, uploading and placing pictures in text, making new pages and making chapters are explained below. If you can't find the information that you are searching for, you can look at either one of the sites below. The first one is a short Wikipedia tutorial, the second one a large guide that explains how to make tables etc.

Numbers and Dates

Since in Afterworld are many players from all over the world and hopefully many of them will use this Wiki we have to regulate how numbers and dates have to be published:

Page creation and editing

Editing a page

To edit a page, simply click edit in the tab that appears on top of a page. You see Wiki code here. Read further or see the links above to learn how to edit (it's really easy)

Create a new page

If you want to create a new page because you have information that needs to be on this site, but you can't put it anywhere? First contact the administrator and tell him you want to create a page. He can make a hotlink in the menu on the left. Before you do this you can make a page. Simply type the name (this is how you want to name the page, for instance "Slugots") behind the webaddress in the webaddressbar. A sort of 'text editor' appears. Type the correct wiki code, or text that you want to be shown here, and click "save". The page has now been saved and is ready to be read.

Headings

For a top-level heading, put it on a separate line surrounded by '=='. For example:

==Introduction==

Subheadings use '===', '====', and so on.

  • Alternative text, used when the image is unavailable or when the image is loaded in a text-only browser, or when spoken aloud, is strongly encouraged. See Alternate text for images for help on choosing it.

Floating to the right side of the page using the ''thumb'' attribute and a caption:

  • The caption is also used as alternate text.
