Register
To get your own account please go to http://my.AfterWorld.ru website and fill in the
form. After submitting you should receive an email with an activation link. Click the
link to activate your account - and you are ready to get in!
DO NOTE: registration takes between 1 and 24 hours. So it's best if you make this
the first step.
You are advised to use an email address from an established provider. Some players
have experienced problems not receiving the activation email when registering via
web based mail providers such as Hotmail, Yahoo etc.
If you don't get your email in time, take a look in your Spam-Folder. There are reports
of certain Email providers/mail software filing the message as spam.
Download
Currently the program can be downloaded here: Afterworld download.
Downloading the game from the official Afterworld website is the only option avail-
able at this time. There are discussions going on whether to make downloads avail-
able P2P. But for now, this doesn't work.
Installation works like every other program in windows.
Login
When you have downloaded the game and installed it, start the program. Then the
update screen should appear and you see the following picture.
If there are updates available, they will be downloaded and installed automatically.
Every once in a while updates are being implemented. See on the version history
page for further information about updates.
When you selected "Start Afterworld", the main login screen appears. The option
window is located here. In this window you can set things like sound volume,
graphic details, mouse options, etc.
After you have registered you can type your login name and password. When this
has been done, select "Login" to start the wonderful world of Afterworld!
Avatar Setup
On your very first login, you can select a name and the appearance of your avatar.
Donation
You can donate to support the developers.
When you have created an avatar, you get AWD (AfterWorld dollars, ingame currency)
proportional to the amount you donated (aprox. 100 AWD for $10,-).
This works both ways as you see, developers get money to develop, and you get a
quick start in the game because you are able to buy some basic equipment. You don't
have to mine/axe trees to get money to start.
